I am a musician and a retired movie director. Currently I build houses as a hobby. 7 years ago, I was introduced to this place in China called The Dragon Tiger Mountain by chance. This place situated in Jiangxi Province is known as the birthplace of Taoism. This scenic area has over 100 peaks and cliffs formed with red terrestrial clastic rocks surrounded by the Luxi River. With breathtaking scenery, many legendary tales and numerous natural and cultural spots, the area was listed as a world heritage site in 2010. I was attracted to this place immediately, not only because of its scenery but because I could feel this sense of peacefulness and oneness with the Universe when I am here that which I had never felt before. After my third visit, I decided to build a town right here, in the middle of no where.
Since then, I have built two hotels. One is currently in operation and the other nearing completion. As an artist, I consider each building, each room within and every detail as a piece of my art work. I am currently also completing a residential park next to the hotel right in the nature, surrounded by mountains and a lake. Adjacent to the residential park, I have created an art street with a total of 50 commercial art galleries and a 300 meter long wall mural of outdoor gallery when finished.
As an artist, I have found that with technological advances and our emphasis placed on material pursue today, we are moving further and further away from our spiritual pursue of inner peace. This has brought so much anxiety, pressure, chaos and unhappiness to us today. What is a better mean to bring people back in touch with nature and with their own soul than a place like this? Where there is only nature, music and art. Personally, I have benefited so much from this place and would like to give others this same opportunity. This outdoor gallery is totally funded by me personally. I have also spoken to many artists who would like to relocate and sell their art work here and have agreed to provide them with free rent for initial 1 1/2 year period. My only condition is that every store on this street will donate 1% of their income to create a charity fund for children. My only wish is to bring this experience of peacefulness to others and create an artistic community where people live in harmony and are willing to help each other and help others in need.
This outdoor gallery will be named “The Miracle”. Since the pursue for happiness is universal, I would like to invite renown artists from all over the world who share the same vision and wish to contribute to paint the wall and create this outdoor gallery. It is my wish that the painting by these artists will inspire the visitors to stop, contemplate and listen to their own heart. With the very special energy that this place radiates, it is my wish that people will be touched and be able to find this sacred space that lies deep in their heart and experience inner peace even for a short period of time. It is my belief that this short moment will always have a place in their heart and memory. One day, miracle will appear for each and every one of us like what I have experienced. Hopefully, with this effort, we can together make this world a better place to live in.
With your years of experience and your passion in mural painting and community outreach, I would very much like to hear your opinion and seek your assistance in recommending artists that can help achieve this vision. I also would like to seek your advice in the selection of the right painting material and other issues of concerns to ensure the longevity of these art works.
